Restylane® Earns FDA Approval for Wrinkle Reduction and Lip Enhancement
The approval of Restylane® is good news to the nearly half-million people who have had wrinkle-reducing and lip-plumping procedures in recent years.
Restylane® provides results that can last as long as a year in some patients, reducing the number of repeat injections to achieve a desired look. Because Restylane® is a naturally occurring substance, there is not a need to perform skin testing prior to injections.
The Food and Drug Administration has granted Restylane® approval for use in the reduction of facial wrinkles and as a lip filler. It is the first FDA approved filler made of biodegradable non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in humans.
