What is your background and education?
I’ve had an interest in skin care since my early teenage years, and I knew by my college years I wanted to pursue a career in skin care. I received my license from Atelier Esthétique Institute of Esthetics (AEIE), located on Park Avenue in New York City. Since being licensed, I have continued my post-grad studies extensively to remain informed about all areas of esthetics and new medical and technological advancements.
How did you first become interested in healthcare/esthetics?
I’ve had an obsession with products of all kinds since adolescence. I wanted to take it a step further and began doing comparisons of drug store and department store brands versus professional skin care lines. This ties into what I do today – I love mixing solutions and creating my own regimens for people based on their individual skin types.
What are your specialities at the practice?
My specialities include pre-and-post operative care, laser hair removal, helping people problem solve everyday skin issues or concerns, defining daily maintenance programs and overall helping people feel better about themselves and how they look.
What is the most rewarding aspect about your job?
Skin care treatments are extremely customized for each individual, and my solutions vary from appointment to appointment. The most rewarding aspect about my job is that I am able to achieve real results for people that help them feel better about their skin and appearance.
What is one piece of information about skincare treatment that you want to share with readers?
It is never too soon to begin even the simplest of daily routines. Never underestimate the value of good skincare treatment. People ask, “Why do I need a facial?” I equate it to going to the dentist. You brush your teeth and floss every day – you still go to the dentist twice each year for a professional cleaning. A facial is the same thing – professional maintenance.
What are you most likely to be doing on a Sunday afternoon?
Decorating, constantly. It’s definitely a passion. I love an extreme makeover of a room, and I never tire of a good Sunday matinee.
What is the most unique aspect about your work environment?
There is always a colleague here, such as a physician or RN, I am able to reference not only for ideas but also to confirm solutions, resulting in more immediate gratification for our patients.
What was the last movie you saw?
I love awards season, so I’ve recently seen all nine of the best movie nominees, and then some.
What is one of your bucket list items?
I’d like to find more time to volunteer to work with children, especially infants.
