This 34 year old woman has asymmetric small breasts and desired to have a more full look with her breasts. We reviewed many implants and pictures of patients that underwent breast augmentation and decided to use a 450 cc saline implant on her larger right breast and a 525 saline implant on her smaller left breast. The difference in the impants makes up for the difference in her breast size although differences between the breasts will be dilute out with an augmentation. However, using different size implants has no real disadvantage whatsoever.

Notice the difference in the nipple position on the breast mounds.  This can be corrected at the same time as the augment but this patient chose not to do so and this is a common decision.  However, when the patient is seen in the consultation and has a nipple position discrepancy, she will also see this in the final settled situation because the augmentation alone does not correct asymmetric nipple complexes.  It is therefore more important to look at the breast mounds and you will see how patients will enjoy their results.  Obviously, in this case the patient is not concentrating on a nipple position when she can enjoy so much more.

The patient is seen at 9 weeks post op and as you can see, she has very nice profiles and a very nice front view. When you view patients results, you MUST see the front views. As you will see from the many cases that you review, almost all of the side views are winners. It MUST be a win in the frontal views to make a judgement on implant size. If a case is presented without frontal views, move on to others because something must be wrong with the frontal views if it is not presented in a case either on the internet or during your consult.

Also make sure that your surgeon has done ALL of the cases presented to you. I have done many thousands of these cases. It doesn't surprise me anymore at the implants that the patients choose either in a larger or smaller size than I would have thought them to choose with their body type. The beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder...the patient !!!!
