This young man found that he had lived in a womans body too long and wanted to have his chest changed to match his desires. Mastectomies complete the male chest and free nipples in a smaller size gives the chest a masculine look.

Most transgender patients want ALL of the tissue off the chest. They are anxious to see the male chest and workout to enhance the muscular tone that will now be seen below the skin of the chest.

The patient is seen at ONE MONTH post op!. These scars are in their reddest condition now but will fade nicely as time goes by. The scars in a man are very explainable believe it or not. Statements like "I had a chest injury and needed surgery" can actually be more accepted than you think. For a man, it is a sort of badge of honor but for a woman that wants to be a man, it is FREEDOM !!!

This case shows the most difficult of the transgender breast transformation for a femal to male. It requires an incision that will both take away the breast tissue AND take away the larg amount of extra skin that is present. Patients in this category usually know this type of approach as it is a free nipple breast reduction but essentially removing all of the breast tissue.

For patients with a high nipple position, one can use the same approach through an areolar incision as would be used for a gynecomastia reduction.
