IS KYBELLA RIGHT FOR ME?

KYBELLA is the first and only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA to reduce submental fat, the localized fat below the chin. If you’re bothered by a double chin, KYBELLA may be an excellent option. Good skin elasticity and tone are important factors for getting good results. KYBELLA doesn’t tighten skin, so if your neck skin is sagging or if you have extensive fat, your surgeon may instead recommend neck lift, facelift, or liposuction surgeries.

HOW DOES KYBELLA WORK?

KYBELLA is considered a breakthrough product for fat reduction. The treatment reduces fat under the chin by destroying fat cells with a synthetic form of a chemical that’s naturally produced by the body. That chemical, deoxycholic acid, is used by the body to absorb and process dietary fat. When the chemical is injected in the area just below the chin, it attacks and destroys fat cells there.

Because the fat cells die and are naturally flushed out of the body, they can no longer accumulate or store fat.

HOW ARE KYBELLA TREATMENTS PERFORMED?

A KYBELLA treatment session is performed at our office and involves multiple injections at the treatment site. Before the treatment begins, your surgeon marks precise injection locations on the upper neck, under the chin. A topical anesthetic can be applied to ensure you remain comfortable during the treatment, which usually takes between 15 and 20 minutes. After the injections are completed, an ice pack is applied to help minimize swelling and maintain comfort. On average, a patient will need 2 to 4 treatments before getting the desired results. Up to 6 separate treatment sessions spread out over 6 months are possible.

WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE AFTER A KYBELLA TREATMENT?

There is minimal recovery time required after KYBELLA treatments. Swelling, bruising, redness, and some discomfort at the injection sites are typical in the first few days. You might experience some temporary numbness or areas of hardness.

HOW MUCH DOES KYBELLA COST IN ALBANY?

The price of KYBELLA treatments varies depending on your customized treatment plan. Some patients need only 2 treatment sessions with 20 injections per session, for example, while other patients may need up to 6 sessions and several more injections.
