The Procedure

During your CoolSculpting® session, gel pads will be positioned on the targeted areas. Your provider will use an applicator to deliver precise cooling technology, called cryolipolysis, to freeze fat cells beneath the skin without damaging any surrounding tissue. This process causes fat cells to crystallize and die naturally so that they can be metabolized.

You may feel intense cold at first, but this sensation usually subsides within 5-10 minutes as the area becomes numb. Patients often spend the procedure time reading, working on their laptops, or simply relaxing.

After Your Appointment

The recovery process is minimal, with most patients returning to normal activities immediately following treatment. Some temporary side effects like redness, swelling, or numbness may occur but typically resolve within a few days.

You can start to see changes from CoolSculpting® as early as three weeks after your treatment, but outcomes vary by individual. Results appear gradually as the body flushes away treated fat cells, usually taking approximately three months.

I too had Dr. Fournier do an otoplasty a little over a year ago now and he did an incredible job! I could not be happier! His bedside manner was great and was very receptive to me having local instead of general anesthesia (which I asked if it was possible to do). My 1.5 year old son had a large cut on his forehead that was 5 days old, and still bleeding after already seeing both an urgent care and an ER. We went to see Briana Benson, PA at the Plastic Surgery Group and she cleaned up the wound, used local anesthetic, and the placed 4 sutures all in the office with my husband and I were holding our squirming son. She has an amazing way with kids, and she was able to be so confident, professional, and fast when doing this. It was also a precise suture, and will minimize scaring. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. Hopefully, we will never need a plastics office again for our little one, but if we ever do, we will surely be returning.
